The FlexMAX 1U is a high performance, modular multi-protocol intelligent platform that offers support for large quantities of various I/O types. Powered by Linux Real Time, the FlexMAX 1U is designed to receive and transmit data across dozens or hundreds of channels with a high time and sync precision, bridge data from receive to transmit channels, detect or inject errors and comes with data filtering and triggering capabilities.

The FlexMAX 1U chassis can host up to 4 FlexMAX modules. The modules are leveraged by powerful embedded resources. A FlexMAX 1U is capable of supporting up to 256 Discrete I/Os, 128 ARINC 429 channels, 256 Analog channels (ADC or DAC), 32 dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553 buses or ARINC 708 I/Os (Weather Radar), 512 ASYNC RS-232/422/485 and HDLC/SDLC or a mix of all of them.

Multiple FlexMAX can be used while keeping all databus time-correlated thanks to the device to device synchronization mechanism. The FlexMAX also supports IRIG-B I/O synchronization.

The FlexMAX 1U features military grade LEMO connectors for Discrete power supply. The device is capable of detecting over voltage or under voltage inputs when the user’s power supply to the Discrete outputs is not unexpectedly high or low. Status LEDs and API retrievable statuses will alert the users and the FlexMAX will protect itself from over voltages.

Rack mount brackets can be removed for tabletop operation, or mounted onto the unit for rack mount use. Rack mount brackets can be mounted on either side of the FlexMAX, allowing users to decide where they prefer to have the I/O connectors. System LEDs are available on both sides of the units.
