OVERVIEW
The PCI-400-2 carrier board is a high performance, multiprotocol PCI solution to your communication requirements, supporting up to two 8/32MHz Industry Pack (IPack) modules. This new generation of intelligent carrier boards is powered by a StrongArm 200MHz RISC processor and comes with 2MB of SRAM and 16MB of shared memory, expandable to 64MB, permitting it to buffer and process high-bandwidth communication between the PCI host and the IPack interface modules.
The on-board firmware allows scheduling of transmit messages, bridging between protocols, complex label filtering, and triggering of recordings. Received messages are time-tagged with 32-bit microsecond precision, without requiring real-time intervention from the host system. Furthermore, multiple carrier boards can be time-synchronized resulting in unmatched precision in critical real-time applications.
MULTIPROTOCOL SUPPORT
The PCI-400-2 is complemented by MAX Technologies’ IPack modules available for ARINC429/561/568/629/708/717, ASYNC RS-232/422/485, CSDB, ASCB, HDLC/SDLC, MIL-STD-1553, Pulse/Frequency generator, Analog and Discrete I/O and more. The PCI-400-2 also can be used with hundreds of third-party IPack modules.
Software Support
The MX-Foundation library provides high-level abstraction of hardware and allows to easily control mixed protocols and I/O modules on one or multiple carrier boards.
